First visit. I've always stayed away because of all the bad reviews. I'll start with my wrap-up: it's hard to find good places with dance bands. These folks must have improved over the years and with new owners and they deserve to have a good crowd, so go. Go often. Go with friends. Here's why: First, the service was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Second, we went on a quest for good fried chicken. The 1/2 chicken dinner was good enough that we will be back. They serve dark meat and it was tender and juicy with good dredging even though just a minute overcooked. The salad, veggies (outstanding), Texas style toast, and mashed potatoes were all really quite good. The 4 pc. full dinner was $16.99, reasonable. Third, the ambiance. The place was QUIET for a Thursday night with a live band- bar maybe half full and 8 tables on the restaurant side. The band was good, for an older crowd, but not tight. Still had a few dancers. Was this experience 5 star perfect? No, but it was a very solid 4 star and we will be back. UPDATE: We did go back! This time the chicken was PERFECT. Service was great (thanks Jason, only guy waiting tables tonight. He kept up!), blues music was good. We've tried a lot of chicken around here. I think we've found our place for fried chicken. And vegetables- damn those mixed veggies are tasty!
